| In this paper, we first introduce the development of HDTV and the principle ofCOFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Multiplex), followed by the transmissionscheme for digital HDTV. According to the analysis of multipath channel, channelestimator and equalizer are needed. Based on the simulation with Matlab, a pilot-basedchannel estimation method is presented. Demapping and quantizer are also discussed inthe paper. In the end, FPGA circuit is designed in Quartus.
