Research On Symbol Timing Recovery, Channel Estimation And Equalization (in OFDM Receiver)

This paper introduces the development history, the fundamental principal and the advantages and disadvantages of the OFDM technique. A further research on the symbol tuning recovery technique based on the DVB-T standard is made. A new symbol timing recovery algorithm is proposed on the basis of present algorithms available and also the diagram of its FPGA realization. Matlab simulations prove the good performance of this new method. Also, this article makes some analysis for channel estimation and equalization technique under IEEE 802.1 la standard in WLAN system. Advantages and disadvantages and their respective application limitation are listed out. If hardware permitted, with the proper combination of these algorithms, a system with excellent performance will be derived.
