Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM) is a kind of microwave signal storage system, which can sample and store an incident RF signal, and then reconstitute the signal upon command from the controller. It has developed an essential part of the electronic countermeasure (ECM) systems, which is mainly applied to generate the Range Gate pull-offjamming and the false target signal to deceive the radar. This paper describes the design and implementation of the Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM) using phase-quantization sampling ~n detail. The monolithic GaAs AID and D/A, Si emitter-coupled logic (ECL) circuits and RF microwave components have been used in the system. To solve the phase break problem occurs in the sample pulse storage mode, this paper gives two applied methods of phase correction. This paper also discusses the problems encountered in designing and debugging the high-speed ECL circuits.
