| Today's world has gotten into the digital era. In such an environment, a change in archive form will be inevitable. So this article discusses the Chinese digital archives, studies the basic condition and the existing obstacles of founding a digital archive. First, the article compares several nouns related to ?digital archives? ascertains the concept we use, and compares digital archives with the traditional. Secondly, the article argues the probability of digital archives, including the social background, technologies, archival theory, etc. Then, the article considers the possible obstacles, about the limitation in archival theory and technology. Finally, the author expounds several ideas that should be noticed. It is for the purpose of promoting and developing the modern archival theory that we discuss this kind of new question.
