But we still can see the trail of "the plan economy"from the short history of the economic reports on television (ERT afterwards), which is unsuitable to the shifting social development. The development of our times needs the reform of the ERT, especially in contents. After reviewing the domestic and international history of the economic reports, we can see that it is the production power and production relation that determine the development of economic reports. In the mean time they are also the raw drive of our reform and the starting point we carry out our reform. The transformation of the media environment also has a great impact on the ERT. In my opinion, in order to reform the content of ERT, firstly we have to expand our sight, pay more attention to the trend of the world economic development and examine the Chinese economic development under the background of the world economic development. Secondly, we must cope with the relationship between policy and practice in an appropriate way and from practice get away from the control of policy to improve the practice after starting from the practice.
