This paper presents a new type of microcomputer compensated crystal oscillator (MCXO) which bases on Al-cut crystal and uses microcomputer as its core. System structure, the design of every part of hardware and software are given. The experimental result proves the temperature compensated method is viable. Because microcomputer is used in system, function of its software can be utilized sufficiently. Software working with simple hardware makes a lot of hardware are saved. Comparing with digital temperature compensated crystal oscillator (DTCXO), the MCXO introduced in this paper has many advantages as follows, simple in structure, small in size, low in power, low in price and short in startup time. The MCXO can output an stable frequency of 1 OMI-Iz, and after compensated it stability can arrive at ?1.5 X 1 o. Because of DTCXO large in size, high in power and high in price, it utilization is limited. The MCXO in this paper compensates the disadvantages of DTCXO and fills the internal blank of MCXO.
