The increasing studies argue that creativity is a kind of ability which can be taught and supported by nowadays. As a major means, school education should develop creativity in all the students. Teachers which are the most important factor in school system make the influential affects in instruction and learning through their views, exceptions, and behaviors. Therefore, creative teaching shows a growing important effect in the students creativity fostering.By creative teaching we mean that teachers using imaginative and creative approaches to make learning more interesting, exciting and effective. Teachers can be highly creative in developing materials and approaches that fire children's interests and motivate their learning. Moreover, it has an affect that can not be neglected in the promotion of career development.However, creative teaching is not an easy thing. Teacher knowledge is just one of the factors that strongly influences their teaching. Enough knowledge base is one important source of creativity. Meanwhile, kinds of knowledge teachers own would make different affects.This study strengthen the common knowledge base,general pedagogical knowledge and content knowledge.The study has two parts:in the first part, we use self-prepared questionnaires, a large-scale investigation of the relationship between common knowledge base,general pedagogical knowledge,content knowledge and creative teaching of 374 primary and secondary school teachers. The following are the main results:(1) General pedagogical knowledge has the significant correlation with the creative teaching. Teachers who have more general pedagogical knowledge usually show more creative teaching behaviors. (2) Teachers who have more common knowledge and content knowledge than others do not show more creative teaching level. (3)The grades which teachers taught, scale of class and their titles all have the obvious affect. In the second part, we combine the observation and interview, in order to acquire teachers'creative behaviors in class, revealing differences of the creative teachers and common teachers.The results argue that:(1)Creative teachers have more questions and feedbacks in class. Her questions can cause the cognitive conflict of students and deeper thinking. Teachers'feedback will vary from different students. (2)Creative teacher has a clearer skeleton of whole teaching, and emphasis is put at the top.
