Emotional education plays an important role in Chinese teaching. With emotional factors accounts for most in today's education system, it is possible and necessary to stress the emotional education in Chinese teaching. The article mainly uses literature method and individual cases method. The article is based on the actual of literature education in senior middle school, focused on the new curriculum stander and textbook, and takes the classical poetries selected in senior Chinese textbook of People Education Edition. The article will be started from the selection of teaching methods of Chinese classical poetries, the analysis of emotion showed in them and the psychology of students to try to make a comprehensive study of the emotional education of middle school Chinese, and then to discuss the emotional education methods of classical poetry's teaching in senior middle school. The article contains four parts.Introduction. It is mainly about the causes, purpose, value, thinking and methods of the research, and documents about the studying achievements.The status and role of emotional education in today's middle school Chinese education. First, the speciality of Chinese education system's factors determines that the emotion is the source of Chinese teaching. Second, emphasizing the emotion is not only one of the Chinese teaching purposes, but also promotes the realization of other teaching aims effectively. At last, emotion has a unique function and role in the teaching procedure, of course, including in Chinese teaching. Not only that, but we can find that the emotional education has a history both in China and foreign countries'education by reviewing the beginning and development of it.Investigation and analysis of present Chinese teaching. For the important role of emotional education in middle school Chinese teaching, I have investigated 170 Chinese teachers, in 22 middle schools which are in different provinces and areas, but use People Education Edition, and find some problems of emotional education existed in present senior middle school'Chinese teaching. They are it emphasizes knowledge but ignores emotion, the purpose of emotional education is too wild and lack of hierarchy, the practice of it is limited by examination and employment pressure, and the content and curriculum setting are unreasonable. The direct reason of the problems is the examination-oriented education, the natural reason of it is emphasizing the form but ignoring the content caused by one-sided understanding of instrumentality, and some other reasons caused by the misunderstanding of teachers and the lack of studying.The foundation and methods of classical poetry's teaching. First, the article analyses four kinds of feelings existed in senior students, they are their characteristics of emotion, and then analyses their emotional needs based on these feelings, such as the two-side, conflicts and instability of the emotion. Next, the article starts from the perspective of the classical poetries'choosing in the textbook, researches the emotion expressed in the classical poetries in the People Education Edition's textbooks based on the new curriculum stands, and analyses if the chosen classical poetries are suitable for the emotional needs of senior students. At last, the article advances the particular teaching methods based on the above. They are feeling the emotion by reading the poetries, understanding the emotion by appreciating the poetries, and expressing the emotion by realizing the emotion expressed by the poetries.
