The primary and middle school music education of minority region is an important part of school education, and also an important field of music education research in China. Pastoral education has been a difficult part for our national education. Since the founding of new China 50years ago, the party and state has been very earnest about the education of minority regions and has ploughed great manpower and wealth into it, which brings rapid development of education undertakings of the minority areas. In order to improve the education condition of the minority areas , Gansu provincial government carried out centralized settlement policy in some nomadic areas focusing on centralized schooling. Boarding school has essentially replaced the tent schools and horseback schools, which not only improved the percentage of entering school of minority children but made them enjoy and access to higher levels of education and more standardized education. AKeSai kazak autonomous county has made outstanding achievements in such area. At present, all the herdsmen have been settled concerntratedly.All school-age children are concentrated in the kindergartens, elementary and middle schools of the autonomous county. Based on the research of music education of primary and middle schools of AKeSai kazak autonomous county in Gansu, this paper introduces the development of school education and the present situation of music education, and puts forward the corresponding countermeasure and the suggestion according to the present problems. Firstly, carrying out various forms of language teaching. Secondly, compilating the local music textbooks. Thirdly, strengthening teachers'training. Fourthly, enriching music appreciation teaching contents, Fifthly, using the multimedia teaching facilities properly. Sixly, carrying out colorful ethnic music activities.
