It is generally known that Chinese national music has a long history,which is an indispensable part of Chinese national culture.School music education,as the core of modern music education,is not only the key to the inheritance of national music culture,but also an important symbol of the development of national music culture.Therefore,they supplement each other and both of them are indispensable.Developing Chinese national music education has its significance in carrying forward traditional national music culture,improving national pride and national self-confidence,and encouraging Chinese national spirit.Currently,the revitalization of our Chinese national music education becomes a national topic.However,because of the unbalanced development between east and west of China,especially in the northwest minority areas,which has significant differences in economy,culture,religion and ethnic composition,which makes the development of music education in this area complicated.This study is based on Zhangjiachuan Hui Nationality Autonomous County(hereinafter referred to as Zhangjiachuan County)of Gansu Province with complex ethnic composition as research subject.Firstly,the author briefly expounds the general situation of Zhangjiachuan County,such as its geography,humanities,religious beliefs and music education.Next,the author randomly selects three primary and secondary schools,by means of questionnaire,interview,as well as the dual identities as “insider” and “outsider” in musical anthropology,while makes an analysis and research of the present situation of primary and secondary schools' music education and teaching,namely,the rich achievements and the existing problems of music education development in Zhangjiachuan County.Finally,proceeding from the development of ethnic traditional music education,the promotion of tradition music culture,the inspiration of national spirits and the promotion of the prosperity and development of music education in ethnic minority areas,the author explores and researches the suggestions and countermeasures for the development of music education in primary and secondary schools inZhangjiachuan County under the context of intangible cultural heritage protection,namely,establishing a new concept of music education,developing the music school-based music curriculum system,enhancing the professional consciousness of music teachers,optimizing the environment of ethnic music education,carrying out ethnic music cultural activities,building up ethnic cultural awareness,strengthening cultural self-confidence,and promoting ethnic traditional music culture,which intend to provide a new perspective and idea for the development of music education in the northwest minority areas,namely Zhangjiachuan County.
