On The Problem Of The Part-time Job Of Postgraduates

With the development of market economy in our country, the economic system and national policy have many changes. All these have a direct effect to each inner part of the higher school. This paper discusses the situation of the part-time of postgraduates from theory and practice basis on the above background.Theoretically, this thesis, from the view of cross-subject, analyses the rationality of postgraduates' part-time job by synthesizing the theories on personal all-round development of Marx, demand layer of psychology, relational theories of economics and social system theory. This article agrees that the part-time work of postgraduates is an inherent need of postgraduates' all-round development, an important form of practical education, the need of individuality development and self-actualization, the necessary result of the change of labor market and the drop of higher education yield base on further development of the market economy.Practically, this article mainly knows the situations of the incentives, problems and difficulties, actual effect of the postgraduates' part-time job by the questionnaires and interviews to 252 postgraduates of a university in Guangzhou city. The investigation shows that the part-time of postgraduates is prevalent. But it also discloses many problems. Firstly, the part-time work is out of joint with the study and scientific research, the postgraduates can't deal with them properly; Secondly, the basic rights and interests of postgraduates are often infracted; Finally the instruction idea is ambiguous, the absence of valid management causes the confusion of the part-time market.The article agrees that it is wrong to disregard and forbid the part-time job of postgraduates. Contrarily, it is necessary to guide them and standardize management. To the postgraduates, they shall build up a right idea of part-time; have a detailed plan of part-time job. To the higher schools, they shall found a special department to guide the part-time job of the postgraduates, actively develop the school part-time market, integrate closely the part-time job with the teaching and scientific research of postgraduates, change the present systems of course and credit, initiate the cooperation between the higher school and the enterprise, support postgraduates' innovative undertaking. To the government, it shall increase the input in education, improve the systems of the law and social security, standard the part-time market of postgraduates.
