With the change of the social environment and diversification of people's view of value, the life-style of postgraduate becomes various. Part-time job is now part of postgraduate's leisure time and it is common among them. Part-time job has both advantages and disadvantages to the postgraduates, and what the school administrators should do with such a personal behavior is to guide it towards good effects. Based on recognizing the rationality of part-time job, this dissertation detects the irrational aspects of the part-time work practice through demonstration research, analyzes the causes and provides some suggestions. The frame of this dissertation is built as follows:The first chapter mainly expounds the writing motivation and the origination of the topic, identifying the postgraduate's attitude towards part-time job and the situation of this social practice. With the help of literature, I master the status of studies on part-time job and consider the writing angle of this dissertation, and then define the core concepts in the dissertation.Chapter 2 to chapter 5 is the core of this dissertation.The second chapter focuses on elaborating the rationality of postgraduate's part-time work practice, identifying that rationality should combine purpose-fit characteristic and law-fit characteristic. The purpose-fit characteristic of part-time work means that the elements of part-time work practice should interact by abeying the expected purposes; while law-fit characteristic indicates that the part-time work practice should follow the law of mental and physical development of postgraduate and the law of part-time work progress. Such two characteristics should be unified into the rationality, with purpose-fit characteristic to be the presupposition of the other and law-fit characteristic to be the guidance.The third chapter emphatically introduces the result of investigation study, and announces the existing problems of part-time work practice, i.e. the irrational aspects, including departure from its purpose and low-efficiency. Then in the following chapter, I analyze the cause of such problems.In the last chapter, based on the presentation and material above, I try to provide some suggestions for solution, both from the view of school administrators and postgraduates themselves.
