Orientation Study Of University Based On The Differentiation Strategy

In the 21st century, higher education in China goes into a rapid development period. With the continuous expansion of higher education, many colleges and universities have to rethink the orientation of their own. This issue involves many factors, and relates to the healthy development of higher education, which is very important and complex.Under the condition of the universities' autonomy expanding, strategic management has become a new research field of higher education management, and catches the attention of the management staff in universities.After analyzing the development history of higher education, we can learn that differentiation and diversification of higher education can meet the needs of social development better, and give full play to the functions of higher education in a wide range of social areas.Differentiation strategy is an important strategy for competition. This dissertation integrates the strategy into the research of universities' orientation, and tries to take a discussion in theory and guide the practice of differentiation orientation.The thesis consists of five parts. The first part sets a brief introduction for the whole article. Chapter one lists two appearance of universities' homogenous development and differentiation development at home and abroad, analyzes the two opposite appearance in diverse discipline perspectives. Chapter two selects three domestic university cases, and three typical foreign university cases. Then analyze them and make comparative research, to draw inspiration from universities' differentiation orientation. Chapter three makes comprehensive analysis of internal and external environment for universities from macro- aspects and micro- aspects. On the basis of the former research, Chapter four raises the principles of universities' differentiation orientation, and definitudes the basis of the orientation. The content of universities' differentiation orientation is the most important part, which is the conclusion of the thesis.
