Mathematics education,as a new area, needs theoreitical and experimental researches continuously. Based on the understanding and analysis of S.S. Chern's thought of mathematics education and the actual circumastances of the mathematics course reform in high schools,this thesis makes a thorough research of S.S. Chern's thought of mathematics education ,aiming at developing students' interest in learning ,broading their knowledge horizen and providing a thinking way and a path for the current teaching reform. S.S. Chern's thought of mathematics education and ideas certainly share realistic meanings, which will surely enrich the existing theories of mathematics and the mathematics education reform.Besides the preface, this paper consists of four parts, including S.S. Chern, the person;S.S Chern's thought of mathematics education and old Chuang philosophy; S.S. Chern's educational influences of the principle upon the young generation.The first part introduces S.S.Chern's life, his main achievements and his contributions to China's education.The second part first introduces S.S. Chern's philosophy thinking influences on the young scholars in such areas from as his academic achievements, the society influences, the personality magic power and patriotic state of mind, then analyses the understanding of the relationship between physics and maths, pointing out that in the new course reform, we should break the phenomenon that mathematics and physicses divide inheritancely and strengthen the fusion between them.The third part focuses on S.S.Chern's educational influences upon the young generation and his contributions to chinese mathematics education and developing the talented people in mathematics.The fourth part inquiries into S.S. Chern's some new education thought on how to reform the high school mathematical course reform and suggests the course reform should be directive and basic. In order to stir up students' interest, we should teach mathematics history to students, provide diverse course, adapt to the individal development and let students learn how to think by way of the cooperations with others and leak the esthetics thought in mathematics teachings in high schools. At the same time, we should pay attention to the cultural values of mathematics and by using S.S. Chern's achivements we can develop the student's quest spirit,the student's patriotic state of mind and stir up the students' study enthusiasm.
