| He Lu(1894-1973)was a famous mathematician and educator during the period of the Republic of China and he devoted his life to the study of Chinese mathematics education,received wide attention in the field of education,but,there is little research on his mathematics education thought.This paper is based on the study of his translated works,textbooks,papers and understanding of his participation and organization of mathematical activities,deeply explore his educational contribution and mathematics education influence.First of all,through studying the translated works,textbooks and papers of He Lu,this paper finds out that he advocates the mathematics teaching thought of "science education and foundation first",the mathematics research thought of "doing middle school and integrating it well",the mathematics research method of "the combination of personality development and experiment" and the mathematics education idea of "environmental education and science first".Secondly,through He Lu's participation in the establishment of Mathematics Journal,the establishment of school,glossary validation and the formulation of High School Geometry Curriculum Outline,this paper finds that He Lu had a profound influence on the development of mathematics education in China.Finally,through the analysis of the background of He Lu's compiling textbooks,glossary validation and theinfluence on them,this paper explores the mathematics education level in China at that time and He Lu's rigorous academic attitude of seeking the roots,details and inferences.Based on the thought and contribution of mathematics education in this paper,it can be found that He Lu played an important role in filling the backward situation of mathematics education in the Republic of China.At the same time,it also promotes the reform and development of modern mathematics education in China. |
