Started in the late 1980s, the reform of faculty management in middle schools has played a positive role in upgrading teachers' career performance and in the overall implementation of quality education. However, in this field there has emerged a new trend where excessive regulations have been adopted and a large number of rigid and inflexible targets have been put forth centered on students' success in the college entrance examination, while laws of educational activities and career features of teachers have been neglected.Factors in two aspects contribute to the cause of the above problem-the external factors, such as the pursuit of results imposed by the market-oriented economy and ever increasing demand of the whole society for higher proportion of students entering universities, and the internal factors including lack of advanced education concepts, the influence of the idea of "results above all" in school management and the absence of necessary humanitarian concerns for the teachers by the administrators. To solve the problem, a new faculty management concept should be established, which conforms to the market-oriented economy and the general social development as well. Quality education should be firmly carried out and a proper perspective should be acquired towards talent, quality and results. The status and function of teachers in quality education should be precisely reassessed so that the tendency of the superiority of school administration can be effectively checked. A new system of both school management and faculty management, which is based on the intrinsic laws of education and humanism, should be established to guarantee the teachers' rights and interests and to fully arouse their initiative and creativity in their work. Only in doing so can we promote the quality education in middle schools to a higher level.
