From the middle of the twentieth, the reform of teacher education has always been the focus of educational reform in each country of the world. With the deepening of Life-long learning thoughts and the development of teacher professionalization, the emphases in teacher educational reform has changed from initial teacher education to in-service teacher further education. As one way of the in-service teacher further education, school-based in-service education (SBI) hasn't undergone an quickly development without being noticed by the world. The UK is one of the fewest countries to implement SBI. Nowadays, through about 20 years development, SBI in the UK is becoming more and more perfect, and was decreed a national policy.The purpose of the paper is to make a thorough and systematic research of SBI in the UK, and tries to get some useful experience for our reference.The paper includes three parts besides the preface.Part one explains three reasons of why SBI started so early in the UK.Part two elaborates the makeup, operation and guarantee of SBI in the UK from the still and dynamic view, incorporating typical cases.Part three presents some viewpoints of how to make a good practice of SBI in future China by making a comparison and analysis on the differences of SBI between the UK and China, based on summarizing the origin and the development of SBI in China.
