A Research On Suzhou Women's Daily Life In Ming And Qing Dynasties

Suzhou region had developed commercial economy,thriving culture and open ideals in Ming and Qing dynasties. What was the women's daily life in this background?First of all,my thesis tries to expose Suzhou women's function from three different roles: the daughter-in-law,the wife and the mother,which women act in family life; Secondly Suzhou Women not only work on traditional agricultural work in economic life,but also grow a collection of profession when commodity economy developed. They worked hard and gained well paid. Last but not the least,they got the rest,relax,entertainment and self-enhancing by means of taking part in cultural activity and religious activities. On this basis I generalize four characteristics of Suzhou Women in Ming and Qing Dynasties,which was high position in families,freedom in religious beliefs,high culture level and universal when they attended social activities.
