| Along with the comprehensive promotion of the new curriculum, new curri- culum reform in China is very close to deep water. Whether new curriculum reform can achieve the desired results, the final analysis, it depends on the ability and quality of teachers. Teachers'proficient teaching skills during the teaching process will directly affect the quality of personnel training. Finally, this will relate to the success of the new curriculum reform. The new basic education curriculum reform puts forward new requirements to teachers in teaching skills. Therefore, to better adapt to the requirements of the new curriculum, the higher Normal teaching education reform should be adjusted in order to cultivate the high-quality teachers.This article according to the Normal College Students'geography teaching practice, uses the combining method such as literature study, questionnaires and classroom observation to investigate the situation of the geography teaching skills for Normal students, to survey the status of the existing problems and the cause of the problem and to give the corresponding training strategies. This part summarizes and concludes Behaviorism, Cognitivism, education, communication, the theory of the new curriculum reform that supports the research to lay the theoretical foundation for the full text.The fourth part is the geography research situation in the new curriculum for college students. The part analyzes the situation about Normal students'geography teaching skills through questionnaires and class observation to identify the main problems on geography teaching skills.The fifth part is the development strategy in the new course for college students' geography teaching skills. This part aiming the major problems according to the analysis of the front parts proposes the training strategies for Normal students in geography teaching under the guidance of the concept from the inside of course, optimized acquisition mode and reform aspects.The sixth part is the conclusion.
