Nowadays,higher requirements in the teaching concept,the quality of teachers,teaching methods and other aspects are put forward to geography teachers of high school.As the cradle of training geography teachers,it is worthy of analyzing and discussing whether the curriculum setting is suitable for the needs of the new geography teaching in middle schools.This paper selects six higher normal colleges and universities with different levels,compares and analyzes their curriculum settings,and conducts questionnaire surveys on related issues.It proposes opinions on how to improve the connection between the geography curriculum setting in higher normal colleges and the new curriculum teaching in middle schools.The study of the suitability of the geography curriculum in normal universities and the new curriculum teaching in middle schools is an effective way to follow the trend of new curriculum reform,meet the needs of middle school curriculum,improve the linkage between universities and secondary education,cultivate new geography teachers,and promote the professional development of teachers.This article mainly adopts the literature method,investigation method,comparative research method.Through the study,it is found that the current geography curriculum setting in the normal colleges in China has the need to improve the curriculum setting of the disciplines,and the degree of the new curriculum teaching needs to be strengthened;the teacher education curriculum is not enough attention to reflect the teacher’s nature is not strong;the education practice is weak;Insufficient curriculum and information technology courses.In response to these problems,combined with the requirements of the new curriculum reform for geography teachers,this paper proposes adjusting the proportion of the four major credits,and gives four major credits for the total credit program: general education courses 25%,subject professional courses 40%,teachers 25% of education courses and 10% of education practice courses;expand the scope of school general education courses,increase science,literature,and content closely related to the times;streamline subject professional courses and improve adaptability to new course teaching;and strengthen teacher education curriculum setting Emphasis on education practice courses,improve the practice links;emphasis on geographic information technology curriculum,familiar with the use of multimedia teaching and other recommendations.This article is based on the curriculum content of the 2017 version of the high school geography curriculum standard and the quality requirements for geography teachers.It shows that the geography curriculum setting in the normal college and the new curriculum teaching in the middle school are not appropriate.This does not mean that the setting of the geography curriculum in the Normal University should be completely compatible with the teaching of the new curriculum in secondary schools.The curriculum of teachers’ colleges should be completely adjusted to the standards of the secondary schools.The curriculum setting for the teachers’ colleges must take into account both normal and academic nature.
