There are many achievements in Zhang' life, especially history and confucian classics. However, up to now, the study in his academic contribution is far from enough."Shiwei" was published in 1908. He proposed some points in the book and repeated his statement. What's more, he pointed out that "six classical arts" has experienced the process from history to scriptures, which has further developed the viewpoint of "the six channels are all history" proposed by Zhang Xue Cheng. Zhang also achieved a lot in the study of Qing history; his "sketches of queens of each king in Qing dynasty" has recorded the main stories of 184 queens in Qing dynasty ranging from the queen Zao Zu Yuan to Zong Zhen, which filled the gaps in academic research. Besides, through rigorous research and detailed historical data, he judged the rumors in court of Qing Dynasty. Just because he belonged to the traditionalist, so under the changing trend of recent academic change, we could not follow the footsteps of reform, nor can get the according position in the academic ancestries.
