| Objective:The clinical study on Activating Yang to reduce phlegm recipe (AR) to treat children's cough of phlegm-dampness accumulation in lungs.Design and method:Children with cough of phlegm-dampness accumulation in lungs meeting the diagnostic criteria are divided randomly into two groups, each with 20 cases. In control group, patients are treated with conventional methods as ambroxol hydrochloride oral solution. In therapy group, children are treated with AR. The therapeutic effect of both groups are evaluated after a duration of treatment, and the clinical symptoms before and after treatment and other relative factors associated with the effect are observed.Results:The effective rate of AR therapy group is higher than the control group, which is treated by Ambroxol Hydrochloride. Besides, patients'symptoms as cough, expectoration, apocleisis, tongue coating, are better alleviated in therapy group than that of control group. Before treatment, there was no significant difference among the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the therapy group surpasses the control group obviously.Conclusion:Cough of phlegm-dampness accumulation in lungs is a common disease in pediatrics, which especially most often seen in infantile. Conventional therapy with only western medicine and application in AR are both effective in treating this disease, while the latter has a more evident efficacy. This study is beneficial for promotion of application of AR to treat children's cough of phlegm-dampness accumulation in lungs. |
