Clinical Study Of Xin Tan Decoction In The Treatment Of Pediatric Cough (Phlegm-Heat Type) Based On The Theory Of "Gathering In The Stomach,About The Lungs"

Objective: To observe the effectiveness of Xin Tan decoction in the treatment of pediatric cough(phlegm heat type),and analyze its clinical efficacy.In order to enrich the treatment ideas of pediatric cough(phlegm heat type)and provide a reference for the clinical application of Xin Tan decoction.Method: From January 2022 to January 2023,70 children with cough(phlegm heat type)from pediatric outpatient clinic of Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,with 36 cases in the experimental group and 34 cases in the control group.The experimental group was treated with Xin Tan decoction,while the control group was treated with Ambroxol hydrochloride oral liquid.The course of treatment was 1 week.Symptom score were observed and recorded in the two groups before treatment and the first week of treatment,to explore the efficacy and safety of Xin Tan decoction in the treatment of pediatric cough(phlegm heat type).This study used SPSS25.0 software for statistical analysis of data.Results: 1.Baseline period before treatment: There was no significant difference in sex,age,single symptom score,main symptom total score,secondary symptom total score and total symptom score between the two groups(P>0.05).2.The evaluation of TCM syndrome efficacy:(1)Analysis of main symptoms:Both groups improved cough and expectoration(P<0.05),but the experimental group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).(2)Analysis of secondary symptoms:The experimental group has curative effects on various secondary symptoms(P < 0.05),while the experimental group was better than the control group in improving hot palms and feet,thirst,dry stools,less urination,poor appetite,restless and sleepless(P < 0.05).(3)Analysis of total symptoms: The experimental group is superior to the control group in improving the total score of main symptoms,total score of secondary symptoms,and total score of symptoms(P < 0.05).3.Disease efficacy: The total effective rate of the experimental group was 91.6%,and that of the control group was 76.5%.The effective rate of the experimental group was obviously higher than that of the control group.The efficacy of the experimental group is better than that of the control group(P<0.05).4.Safety evaluation: There were no adverse reactions in both groups of children.Conclusion:1.The total effective rate of Xin Tan Decoction in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of Ambroxol hydrochloride oral liquid in the control group,indicating that Xin Tan decoction is better than Ambroxol hydrochloride oral liquid in the treatment of pediatric cough(phlegm heat type).Xin Tan decoction can effectively improve or eliminate the symptoms of cough,expectoration,hot palms and feet,thirst,dysphoria,dry stools,less urination,poor appetite,restless and sleepless in children with cough(phlegm heat type).2.The clinical treatment of Xin Tan Decoction is safe and effective,and it is worthy of clinical promotion.
