The Clinical Study Of Strengthen Spleen And Disperse Phlegm In Pediatric Tuina Treatment For Chronic Cough Induced By Phlegm-dampness In The Lung

Cough is one of the main symptoms that persuade parents to look form medical help.In the western countries,the conventional medicine has a very low confirmed effectiveness for these cases,especially in chronic cough according to the researches.This study supports the effectiveness of pediatric tuina for the treatment of chronic cough in the pattern of accumulation of phlegm-dampness in the lung according to the Chinese Medicine theory in children within 6 months to 6 years old.Identifying the pediatric tuina treatment as safe,easy to perform,without side effects,and effective technique that helps to strength the spleen and the body in general recovering the balance for the right:functioning of the organs and recuperating health.Objective:the evaluation of the effectiveness of pediatric tuina in strength spleen and disperse phlegm in the treatment of chronic cough induced by phlegm-dampness in lung,in kids aged between 6 months to 6 years old.Method:a clinical study was done,using two groups interventions,a tuina group with a pediatric tuina prescription and a control group using oral antitussive medicine.A pre-test and post-test measures was performed to stablish the level of cough.Results:the pediatric tuina was equal effective as the oral medicine,on the treatment of chronic cough,taking this technique as a good alternative treatment,with a potential and positive impact,as well as reducing possible side effects of the oral medicines(western or Chinese).The percentage of reduced symptoms was:a 53.3%of marked effect and a 40%of improvement in the symptoms,only a 6.6%of the cases had not any improvement.Conclusion:Pediatric Tuina is an effective treatment for the chronic cough due to accumulation of phlegm,strengthen the spleen and helping in the reduction of phlegm,resulting in the improvement of clinical signs.
