In the last 30 years, the job burnout problem has becoming a new research topic in psychology and human resources management at home and abroad. According to the national survey on job burnout, the police with high work pressure are the high job burnout group. The job burnout has serious impact not only on the physical health of the police office and the work performance, but also on the law enforcement results, the organizational effectiveness of the public security organs, and even has negative impact on social stability. There is much job burnout study on teachers and doctors, but the research on the particular job police is rare. This paper takes the Kunming police as an sample, and attempts to find out the root causes of the police's job burnout and the relationship among job press, social support and job burnout. Then the paper will make some intervention suggestion about stress management and prevention of burnout, which will has some practical significance on the police human resources management.On the basis of the existing study at home and abroad, combined with the interviews, the paper brings forward the conceptive model of the study and the issues to be resolved.Then, based on the theory study and empirical study, the paper explores the forecasting effects of role press on job burnout, and social support's moderating effects on job burnout.The conclusions of the paper are:(1) The level of the police's job burnout in Kunming is the highest, and then the emotion exhaustion, the depersonalization and ineffectiveness.(2) The result indicates that the three dimensions of job burnout are significantly different based on the demographic variables, such as gender, age, police's sort and years of service.(3) The role press of the police in Kunming is significantly correlated with job burnout. And role press (in some dimensions) can forecast job burnout (in some dimensions) to some extent.(4) Social (in some dimensions) support has moderator action between role press (in some dimensions) and job burnout (in some dimensions).As a result, according to the previous study and the actual situation of the Kunming police, the paper brings forward the suggestions to alleviate job burnout from enhancing the quality of individual mental ability and emergency response capacity, the social support, organizations-support, individual-support and availability of individual-support, which will has some practical significance on alleviating the police's job burnout.
