The Clinical Research On Modified Xuan Bi Decoction Treating With Accumulated Damp-Heat Type Of Gouty Arthritis

Objective:To observes and appraises the clinical research on modified modifed Xuan Bi Decoctio'n treating with accumulated damp-heat type of gouty arthritis to know the curative effect and evaluate the safety.based on that expolre a new Chinese patent medicines to treat with gouty arthritis.Methods:Collect 40 cases of accumulated damp-heat type of gouty arthritis.20 cases in treatment group, to treat with modifed Xuan Bi Decoction; 20 cases of control group treated by western medicine of colchicines and allopurinol. both groups take one-week course of treatment, know the before and after curative effect of the Redness, swelling, Swelling, Heat of the affected joints and short-term lowering of blood uric acid (BUA).by scoring and statistical analyzing, comprehensly assess the efficacy and safety.Results:The total ratio of efficacy of the treatment group was 90.0% while the control group was 85.0%, with no significant difference (P>0.05). Patient self-ratings and the clinical symptoms and signs, such as joint redness, swelling, heat, pain, etc., had great significant difference (P<0.01), which illustrates both the treatment and control groups improved the clinical symptoms. Observation of serum uric acid had great significant difference between before and after treatments in the treatment group (P<0.01) and had significant difference in the control group (P<0.05). There was significant difference in after treatment in two groups (P <0.05) which indicates the treatment group had better results in lowering serum uric acid than the control group. The treatment group had no adverse reactions in safety concern, but the control group had 3 cases of adverse reactions.Conclusion:Modified Xuan bi decoction to ease the joints pain symptoms, improve clinical signs and other aspects played an important role, has the effect of lowering the blood uric acid, with no obvious toxic side effect. Shows that modified Xuan Bi Decoction treating with accumulated damp-heat type of uratic arthritis has a certain value, reflects the dialectical advantages of traditional Chinese medicine.
