Objectivewe performed BillrothⅠand BillrothⅡanastomosis on rats of hyperuricemia after subtotal gastrectomy, and compared the differences of serum uric acid, weight and renal pathology pre-and post-operation in order to discuss the effects of subtotal gastrectomy on uric acid metabolism.Method120 male Wistar rats were diveded into Control Group (C, n=10) and Model Group (M,n=110) randomly. The Model Group were feed high-purine food and administrated adenine intragastrically (i.g.) for 3 weeks to induce hyperurecemia. Then, the hyperuricemia rats whose weight was more than 250g were selected and divided into 4 subgroups:Hyperuricemia Group (G, n=10) which were feed normal food without surgery, BillrothⅠGroup (B1, n=25) which were performed subtotal gastrectomy and BillrothIⅠanastomosis, BillrothⅡGroup (B2, n=24) which were performed subtotal gastrectomy and BillrothⅡanastomosis, and Sham Operation Group (J, n=8) whose belly were opened and closed only. And then serum uric acid, triglyceride, weight and renal pathology were tested in 48h,1 week, and 2 weeks after the operations. The rats were sacrificed to do the examination of renal pathology 2 weeks after operations.Results1. Compared to G Group, the serum uric acid of the group of J, B1 and B2 increased significantly (688.75±54.06,738.00±74.47,712.00±97.91 vs 336.11±33.63, P<0.05) in 48h after operation;2. compared to 48h of postoperation, the serum uric acid of the group of J, B1 and B2 decreased significantly in 1 week of postoperation (333.86±28.80 vs 688.75±54.06, 320.67±33.01 vs 738.00±74.47,290.57±21.95 vs 712.00±97.91, P<0.05), whereas the G Group did not change obviously (338.22±35.53 vs 336.11±33.63, P>0.05);3. compared to 1 week of postoperation, the serum uric acid of B1 and B2 Group decreased significantly in 2 week of postoperaton (268.44±32.25 vs 320.67±33.01, 240.71±26.67 vs 290.57±21.95, P<0.05) and was much lower than the group of H and SO (268.44±32.25 vs 336.56±36.06,268.44±32.25 vs 323.86±21.87,240.71±26.67 vs 336.56±36.06,240.71±26.67 vs 323.86±21.87, P<0.05)4. There were no significant differences between B1 and B2 Groups even though the latter was a little lower than the former (268.44±32.25 vs 240.71±26.67, P>0.05).5.2 weeks of postoperation, renal biopsy showed that Bl and B2 Group had less damages compared to G and J Group.6. When hyperuricemia models were built, the weights of the four groups rats decreased significantly compared to those before models building (260.56±25.55 vs 323.33±14.58,248.13±11.93 vs 323.13±20.17,266.11±17.64 vs 315.56±9.50, 260.71±23.87 vs 318.57±18.42, P<0.05);7.2 weeks of postoperation, the weights of rats in Bland B2 Group were lower than those in G and J Group significantly (228.89±22.47 vs 347.22±16.41,209.29±10.18 vs 347.22±16.41,228.89±22.47 vs 289.37±20.78,209.29±10.18 vs 289.37±20.78, P<0.05);8. When hyperuricemia models were built, serum uric acid correlated to triglyceride positively (r=0.641, P<0.05), moreover, there was linear regression relationship between the two indexes (Y≈0.009X-2.041, P<0.05)ConclusionThe serum uric acid was elevated obviously after operation. But 2 weeks later, the interventions of BillrothⅠand BillrothⅡoperation were able to improve the conditions of hyperuricemia and decreas the damages of kidneys. The weights of rats decreased in the process of hyperuricemia models building, and subtotal gastrectomy was able to decrease weights in the long term. In hyperuricemia models, surum uric acid correlated to triglyceride positively.
