【Objective】To discuss the feasibility of laparoscopic hepatic left lateral lobectomy in the treatment of hepatic bile duct stones.【Methods】Data of the same period and the same hospital for 40 patients who underwent laparoscopic hepatic left lateral lobectomy and 40 patients who underwent open hepatic left lateral lobectomy were collected and analyzed retrospectively. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalization days and postoperative rate of infection were compared between two groups.[Results] The operation time (208±71) min of laparoscopic surgery group was shorter than of open group (214±69) min, but no significant difference; the intraoperative blood loss of laparoscopic surgery group (472±418) ml was more than that of open group (450±323) ml, but no significant difference; hospitalization day (11.0±7.5) d were less than those (11.9±7.4) d in open surgery group, no significant difference; postoperative rate of infection 12.5% in laparoscopic surgery group were not signicantly less or more than that in open surgery group 17.5%. 【Conclusions】Laparoscopic hepatic left lateral lobectomy can be carried out safely and effectively in the hepatic bile duct stones.
