Objectives: To examine the teaching status of undergraduate-course in a Medical University with the aid of survey of the students of the graduating classes in 2010. To evaluate the effectiveness of undergraduate-course teaching through teaching reform in a Medical University.Methods: The survey was carried out using self-made questionnaire. The undergraduates of the graduating classes in 2010 with involving in education reform was selected as the intervention group, the undergraduates of the graduating classes in 2005 without involving in this education reform was selected as the control group. The effectiveness of the teaching reform was evaluated by comparing the status of overall teaching quality, major establishment, classroom instruction, practice teaching, test management, teaching quality monitoring, etc. between the intervention and control group.Results: According to research results from the students of the graduating classes in 2010, 69.1% of them consider the overall quality of students of the graduating classes is higher, 82.6% of them feel that the specialty establishment is suitable, 64.7% think that they have a better learning skill, 92.8% deem that the status of the classroom discipline is better, 89.4% consider the examination management is reasonable and 99.1% consider that the teaching quality monitoring is nicer.Overall, after education reform implemented, there has been a significant improvement in overall teaching quality, specialty setting, teaching status in classroom, practice teaching, examination management, teaching quality monitoring and so on. It can be found that the proportion of the students whose overall teaching quality assessment has improved is 12.2%, the proportion of the students who accept the specialty setting has increased 7.0%, the feeding teaching method has decreased 11.3% and the proportion of the students who approbate the teaching quality has also increased 17.1%. But teaching method, students' cheating in examination, elective course attendance and teaching quality monitoring are all need further improve.Studies have shown that the education reform program has achieved initial success, worthy of further improvement and promotion.Conclusions: The graduates of 2010 grade not only affirmed the achievement of my university educational reform, but also put forward the critical proposals about our university educational reform. The educational reform still need further reinforcement.
