DM-based Study On Special Rules And Characters Of Fire-acupuncture

Objective: Fire-acupuncture is an important part of acupuncture and moxibustion technique. With lots of long-term clinical experience by generations of acupuncture moxibustion scholars, fire- acupuncture has developed a lot greatly in clinic. The object of this study is the clinical advantages in the effect of fire- acupuncture. Making document database system through data mining to collect and summarize the proof needed in fire- acupuncture decision-making, this paper studies the applicable disease, operational methods, common needling instrument, major acupuncture point, clinical effect and so on for fire- acupuncture. In the meantime, the systemized proof as experiment basis will be promptly transferred to the doctor and the decision-making people in clear and easy way.Methods:1 By reading a lot of document, this paper takes fire- acupuncture as the target data to study the specificity of moxibustion effect. Search method is determined to collect the documental data of 612 journal data from 1949 to 2010, past and present medical data in 482 cases and 372 medical books data. Establish fire- acupuncture documentary database to determine the inclusion criteria for small-scale search, document input, information extraction, documentary quality assessment and statistical analysis.2 Improve the database design, standardize search method, and determine the inclusion and exclusion of criteria, and proceed with documentary data input and verification through unified and standardized approach.3 Make data conversion between discrete and continuous values, classification of values and other data conversion of computer language, mainly taking association rules of data mining technique to extract and classify relative information about the specification of fire- acupuncture. Results:1 The diseases that can be treated by fire- acupuncture involve 6 disease genera, 129 kinds of diseases (206 original names of disease), and surgical diseases show the highest frequency as much as 296 times, accounting for 53.82%. Treatment of arthralgia symptoms and the snake strand sore are more common in surgical disease. The most supportive rate 19.84% in the effect of fire-acupuncture comes from the treatment of humeral epicondylitis. And the high degree of confidence is 75.76% when fire needle is simply applied in the treatment. Fire needle and cupping therapy are often used together for snake strand sore, and needle applied in Ashi point has confidence of 95.65%. For the frequency of the needles used in fire-acupuncture, 9 types of needles are used and the frequency is 510 times. The doctors tend to choose common fire needle and tungsten manganese alloy fire needle in different sizes. Analyzing the top 15 disease with the most frequency of fire needle application, fire-acupuncture involves 183 acupuncture points in human body, and the major points for treating arthralgia symptoms are less than 32, taking 10.29%. Dubi, Knee eyes, Liangqiu, Zusanli, Heding, Jiaji, Xuehai, Yanglingquan and so on are most frequented. The treatment result shows that the effective rate and recovery rate are the highest in paediatrics, respectively, 99.46% and 96.74%, and 2.72% shows the least efficiency, which shows that the fire needle is more suitable for the treatment of pediatric diseases.2 The diseases treatable by fire-acupuncture in medical document include 97 kinds of diseases in 6 disease categories. The highest frequency of 230 times for 30 disease comes from surgical treatment. Besides arthralgia symptoms, verruca disease occurs very often in treatment, which involves 8 kinds of needles and 700 times as total frequency. General fire needle and mini needle are most used. The statistics of treating 15 diseases by fire needle involve 177 acupuncture points, and Ashi point is most frequented for more than 10 times. Additionally, lentiginous nevus and corn can be cured for only treatment of fire-acupuncture. With lowest average times of treatment, resin tumor, wart and underarm odor are also possibly cured for one treatment. 3 Fire acupuncture in medical document involves 96 diseases, and 139 for surgical diseases, accounting for 37.17%; 33 for internal diseases with the most kinds of diseases. Generally, arthralgia and lumbocrural pain occur more frequently, with respective 43 times and 15 times, and Ashi point are mostly treated.Conclusion: According to the principle and method of deepening technology, this research gives evaluation and analysis. From the present evidence, the therapy which appeared in journals and books are effective, especially in dermatology and surgery, since hopefully this therapy can give many diseases radical cure. It plays important roles in curing skin and ulcer. A Shi acupoint and Jia Ji acupoint are vital ones, which have the first-place effect in pediatrics, second in facial features, third in internal medic-ine. The usage of Prick-therapy is very wide, mostly directly, but does not pay much attention to retaining and manipulating.
