Objective:To observe and evaluate the Mlligan-Morgan surgery by reducing tension of incision plus resection of internal sphincter on treatment of incarcerated hemorrhoids. Methods:The 108 inpatients diagnosed with incarcerated mixed hemorrhoids were randomly assigned to 2 groups, the test group(54cases) were treated by Milligan-Morgan surgery with reducing tension of incision plus resection of internal sphincter, the control group(54cases) were treated by traditional Milligan-Morgan surgery. Observation and statistics were maken about the therapeutic effect, postoperative hemorrhage, anal edema, sensation of pain in the anus, bowel conditions, Urination, anal function, wound healing time. Results:Postoperative symptomatic scores were lower both in the test group and the control group than those of pro-operation. There were no statistic differences in two groups about the short term therapeutic effect, postoperative hemorrhage, postoperative urinary retention, sensation of pain in the anus within 24 hours, anal incontinence and anal stenosis. It was were significantly better in test group than control group on the contrary, edema in the anal, sensation of pain in the anus after 72 hours, bowel conditions, wound healing time (P<0.05).Conclusion:The Milligan-Morgan surgery with reducing tension of incision plus resection of internal sphincter could effectively cure incarcerated hemorrhoid. And at the same time, it can effectively protect the anal function, reduce anal margin of edema, postoperative pain, bowel problems and other complications, and shorten wound healing time. it is a good surgical style for the incarcerated hemorrhoids.
