Object:Comparing with the traditional acupuncture therapy, we study the clinical efficacy of pricking acupoints of Jinjin and Yueye in aphemia after stroke by means of the Neurological Deficit Scale (NDS), the Simplified Chinese Language Test of aphasia, and the Chinese Functional Communication Profile (CFCP), in order to certain to what extent can the pricking therapy curing aphemia and find out the meaning of curing the disease by this method.Methods:60 patients who diagnosed as aphasia after stroke, were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group is treated by pricking acupoints of Jinjin and Yuye, and the control group is treated by needling the traditional acupoints of Lianquan, Tongli and Yamen. Each group includes 30 cases. Both patients of two groups must receive the basic therapy according to the Guidebook of China Cerebrovascular Disease (2005) and Acupuncture Therapeutic. We evaluated the improvement of aphasia of every patient and the clinical efficacy according to the following items, (1) the Score of Nervous Functional Deficiency (2) the Simplified Chinese Language Test of aphasia (3) the Chinese Functional Communication profile (CFCP), and we also use the Simplified Chinese Language Test of aphasia as a clinical criteria to determine the clinical efficacy of aphasia after stoke. Results:the chi-square test shows that there is no significant difference between the two group in sex, age, type of cerebrovascular disease, frequency and severity of attacks.1. In the Score of Nervous Functional Deficiency, there is a statistically significant difference between pretreatment and post-treatment(P<0.05), but there is no significant differences between the treatment group and the control group after receive the treatment(P<0.05).2. In the Simplified Chinese Language test of aphasia, there is a statistically significant difference between pretreatment and post-treatment of the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05), which the control group was prominent(P<0.01). In the subitems of Spontaneous Speaking, there is a statistically significant difference between pretreatment and post-treatment of the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05), which the control group was prominent(P<0.05). In the subitems of Repeating, there is a statistically significant difference between pretreatment and post-treatment of the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05), which the control group was prominent(P<0.05). In the subitems of Understanding, there is a statistically significant difference between pretreatment and post-treatment of the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05), which the control group was prominent(P<0.05).In the subitems of naming, there is a statistically significant difference between pretreatment and post-treatment of the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05), which the control group was prominent(P<0.05).3. In the Chinese Functional Communication Profile(CFCP), by the Paired-Samples T Test, the treatment group has a prominent advantage over the control group, and the result shows that there is a significant difference between the two group, which indicates the pricking therapy can greatly improve the daily communication of the patients(P<0.01).4. In the evaluation of clinical efficacy, there is a statistically significant difference between the treatment group and the control group P<0.05). The curative rate of the control group was 3.33% and the curative rate of the treatment group was 20.00%.Conclusions:Comparing needling the traditional acupoints of Lianquan, Tongli and Yamen, Pricking Jinjing and Yuye points has obvious effect on improving the linguistic function including spontaneous speaking, repeating, understanding and naming (P<0.05)。The total effective rate of the control group was 73.33% and total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.33%, which implies the treatment group has a significant improvement over the control group. Therefore, it shows us a simple, convenient, inexpensive, effective way to cure aphasia after stroke and it has great value in clinical application.
