ObjectivesTo investigate the efficacy of using the Mecobalamin acupoint injection with electro-acupuncture therapeutics for acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathyMethodsThe literatures were searched from "VIP" Chinese science and thecnology periodical database by the thematic terms of "PCOS". Sixty patients were enrolled from the clinic of Guangzhou university of TCM. They are all consistent with the inclusion criteria of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. They were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group and control group. Treatment group adopted electro-acupuncture treatment of using the Mecobalamin acupoint injection (Jingbailao, the extraordinary points;Xuanzhong, the points of the Gall Bladder Channel of Foot-Shaoyang, also it is one of the Eight Strategic Nerve Points--influential point of the marrow), acupucture point (Da zhui, the points of the governor meridian; Tianzhu, the point of urinary bladder channel of foot taiyang, Houxi, the point of small intestine channel of hand taiyang, also it is one of the eight confluent acupoints connecting the eight extra channels;Jingjiaji points;Quchi, The Sea acupoint of the large intestine channel of hand yangming; Waiguan, the point of the tri-jiao channel of hand shaoyang;Jingbailao the extraordinary points;Xuanzhong, the points of the Gall Bladder Channel of Foot-Shaoyang, also it is one of the Eight Strategic Nerve Points--influential point of the marrow).adjunct acupuncture points:the type of wind chill:Fengmen, Fengfu; the type of phlegmatic hygrosis:Yinlingquan, Fenglong; the type of qi stagnation and blood stasis:Neiguan, Geshu, Hegu, Taichong); control group adopted routine acupuncture treatment. The frenquency of treatment are five times a week, one time perday, two weeks were a course of treatment. The treatment group, using the Mecobalamin acupoint injection (tow points qod, Jingbailao and Xuanzhong,0.5ml each point). After one continuous course treatment, we evaluated the clinical therapeutic effect. The curative effect on pain was evaluated by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The efficacy was measured with the Japanese specialist-tianzhongjingjiu Symptoms and Signs Quantized Integration.Result1.The difference of therapeutic effects between two groups had statistical significance, by taking Ridit analysis, P<0.05. The treatment group was better than the control group. The significantly effective rate (73.33%) of treatment group was higher than the general acupuncture group (43.33%), P<0.05. The difference of significantly effective rate between two groups had statistical significance.2. Before treatment, there were no statistical significant differences in the score of Visual Analog Scale (VAS) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the VAS score was 3.07±1.48, respectively, in the treatment group and 4.00±1.82, respectively, in the control group. After a T test, it is indicated that it had statistical significance in the curative effect in both two groups (P<0.05).3. Before treatment, there were no statistical significant differences in the score of Symptoms and Signs Quantized Integration between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the score was 16.83±1.44 in the treatment group and 15.33±2.62 in the control group. After at test, it is indicated that it had statistical significance in the curative effect in both two groups (P<0.05).ConclusionBy using the Mecobalamin acupoint injection with the acupuncturing therapy was a better way to relieve the pain of the patients of the nerve root cervical spondylosis. The life quality of the patients of the nerve root cervical spondylosis was improved with the pain relieved. The clinical effect of using the Mecobalamin acupoint injection with the acupuncturing therapy was better than that of acupuncturing routine points.
