Clinical Research On Traditional Acupuncture Manipulation Combined With The Moxibustion On Baihui Of Meniere Disease

Meniere's disease is a disorder of the inner ear which causes episodes of vertigo, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), a feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear, and fluctuating hearing loss. Untile now, there is no available western medicine which is safe and long lastig. In recent years, Chinese medicine and acupuncture have got some achivement on controling this disease.ObjectivesTo Observe the clinical efficacy and safety of the Traditional Acupuncture Manipulation combined with the Moxibustion on Baihui on Meniere Disease, in order to enhance the combined thearpy.Methods60 cases of out-patient of Meniere Disease from the acupuncture department and otorhinolaryngological department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, were randomly divided into 30 cases of therapy group (Traditional Acupuncture Manipulation combined with the Moxibustion on Baihui), and 30 patients of control group(Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsules).4 weeks later, observed the clinical efficacy and safety indicators of the two groups, measuring scales of The Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI), Visual analogue scale (VAS), The MOS 36-item short-form health survey (SF36) and so on, and then carry out comparative study of efficacy. Establish databases, and use statistical analysis of SPSS17.0.ResultBoth methods of the research achieved a satisfactory clinical efficacy, and the therapy group was better. To compare the indicators of Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) before and after the treatment between the two groups, There was a significant differences (P<0.05). In addition, compare the two groups with stratified analysis, there is significant difference(P<0.05) of some stages. The effect of deficiency of qi and blood was better.To compare the scores of The MOS 36-item short-form health survey (SF36) after the treatment between the two groups, there is a significant difference(P<0.05). To compare the scores of SF36 before and after the treatment, there is significant difference(P<0.05) in both two groups, and the therapy group was more obvious.To compare the scores of Visual analogue scale (VAS) after the treatment between the two groups, there is a significant difference(P<0.05). To compare the scores of VAS before and after the treatment, there is significant difference(P<0.05) in both two groups, and the therapy group was more obvious.ConclusionBoth methods of the research achieved a satisfactory clinical efficacy, and the therapy group was better. After treatment, the therapy group, the scores of Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI), Visual analogue scale (VAS), The MOS 36-item short-form health survey (SF36) were significantly decreased, There wasn't any severe adverse events in the research. In a word, Traditional Acupuncture Manipulation combined with the Moxibustion on Baihui of Yinxieli is an effective method of treating Meniere's disease.
