Background:Primary dysmenorrhea (PD) refers to that women suffer from abdominal and lumber pain during the menstruation, and it is influenced the daily life, study and work as well. This disease occurs mostly in young women. With the deeply-going study on the clinical and mechanism of the bee-puncture therapy, it is widely used in curing many diseases. But it is seldom study used on PD, which less applied randomized control study in clinic, and the related mechanism was not identified. Objective:this issue is to observe the clinical effect of the bee-puncture therapy in Primary dysmenorrheal, and discuss the possible mechanism of it.Methods:60 patients with Primary dysmenorrheal were chosen from the First Affiliated Hospital in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in acupuncture clinic and the students from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which divided into the treat group 30 cases and the control group 30 cases in random. The treat group:selected BL18(Ganshu), BL20(Pishu), BL23(Shenshu), BL32(Ciliao) and so on. Used one bee to sting ST36(Zusanli) point with the both side for the first time, used one bee to sting one point of the both side from the second to the fifth time, and increased to 2 bees to sting the bilateral point from the sixth time to the ninth time, finally added to 2-4 bees to sting 2 points of the both side after the ten times. The control group:took Ibuprofen Sustained Release Capsules orally from the 1st abdominal pain day of the 1st menstrual cycle,0.3g every time,2 times a day, paused in the 3rd day of the menstrual period. After that, took drugs orally when the pain came out every menstrual period. All patients from the two groups cure one menstrual period as one course of the treatment. Insist on treating three courses and observe the curative effect. Record the data after the 1st dysmenorrheal day of the 1st menstrual treatment 5min, 10min,15min,20min, 25min and 30min relief of dysmenorrheal symptoms, the total points before and after the treatment of the two groups. Establish database and analyze statistical by SPSS 17.0 software package. Results:the treat group total effective rate is 93.3%, the control group reach to 76.7%. The recently effective rate of treat group is 80% while the control group is 63.3%. After 3 courses treatments, the total effective rate of bee-puncture therapy is 86.7%, but the Ibuprofen Sustained Release Capsules group only is 56.7%. Bee-puncture group compared with the Ibuprofen Sustained Release Capsules group showed that there was statistical significance by chi-square test (P<0.05).This study of 30 cases on the control group not appeared adverse reaction. 30 cases on the treat group appeared local reaction. (e.g. pain in epidermis, local picchu, red and swollen, pruritus, pigmentation); 8 patients appeared general reaction which took up 26.7%. There were 4 cases got fever,1 case urticaria,1 case lymphadenectasis,2 cases dizziness. The general reaction in the two groups showed that there was difference by chi-square test (P<0.05). Conclusions:the treat group and the control group can treat Primary dysmenorrheal, especially to alleviate the symptoms of abdominal pain. The bee-puncture therapy had much better clinical effect on curing the disease and took effect quickly. This method is easy to operate, though there was some allergic reactions, which can be controlled through the rigorous prevention and monitor which the patients could endure. It was worth to apply in clinical further.
