Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Chinese-herb-tea treatment on the postoperative urine retention after the external piles-excise & internal piles-ligature operation of mixed hemorrhoids disease. Methods:60 patients were randomly selected and divided into two groups, namely therapy group and control group. The treatment shall be started after six hours of operation. The therapy group 30 patients were treated with Chinese-herb-tea treatment, drinking 500ml Chinese-herb-tea in batches within 30minutes. While the control group 30 patients were treated through hot compress of the urinary bladder and meanwhile drinking warm boiled water in batches within 30minute. After treatment, contrast and observe the time and the volume of first urination of the two groups. Then evaluate the main symptoms and physical signs of the two groups after 30 minutes and 60 minutes of treatment. Results:Clinical studies have shown that the post-treatment effect of the therapy group is 83.3%, and the effect of the control group is 60%. The therapy group achieved significant and obvious effect comparing to the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion:There was significant clinical effect of Chinese-herb-tea treatment on postoperative urine retention after the external piles-excise & internal piles-ligature operation of mixed hemorrhoids disease. It is concluded that such treatment is inexpensive, easy operation, painless, widely accepted to the patients and it can reduce the suffering of patients. It is also conducive to postoperative recovery to improve the quality of life.
