Clinical Observation On YiShiMingMu Decoction For Treatment Of Juvenile Myopia

Purposes:Research on clinical effects of YiShiMingMu decoction for treatment of juvenile myopia and discuss it's mechanism.Juvenile myopia not only related to genetic factors,but also related to use eyes for a long time,use eyes improperly and exhaust as the labor-looking.Its pathogenesis is kidney essence deficiency, spleen energy deficiency, disoder of liver energy. And accordingly to prescript YiShiMingMu decoction.This article aims to evaluate objectively the therapeutic effect of this therapy on juvenile myopia through clinical observation and to explore the mechanism of its efficacy.Methods:Collected 66 clinic patients with myopia eye (age 5 to 15 years old, diopter<-3.00D,132 eyes) in First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2009 to February 2010.Patients were divided into treatment group (1～3 group) and contrast group (1～3 group) with randomization method.The treatment group was treated with YiShiMingMu decoction, the contrast group was treated with optical films, both group are treated for two treatment courses.Results:After two treatment courses, the treatment group and the contrast group were significantly increased visual acuity, the improvement of the treatment group is more obvious;Classified according to the degree of myopia, the treatment group and the contrast group both can significantly increase visual acuity of the three groups myopia; the treatment group and the contrast group have no significant difference for group 1(<-1.00D);the treatment group can increase visual acuity more effectively for groups 2 (-1.00D～-2.00D) and group 3 (-2.00D～-3.00 D).After two treatment courses, the treatment group and the contrast group both can significantly reduce the diopter of group 1,but no significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion:YiShiMingMu decoction and optical films both can significantly improve visual acuity of low myopia(<-3.00D),but YiShiMingMu decoction can increase visual acuity more effectively. YiShiMingMu decoction and optical films both can reduce the diopter of group 1(<-1.00D),but no significant difference between the two groups.
