Study Of The Effect Of Electro-acupuncture Treatment On Oocyte Quality And Outcome Of The Patients With PCOS And Asthenia Of Kidney Undergoing In-vitro-fertilization And Embryo Transfer

Objective:To investigate the effects of electro-acupuncture treatment on oocyte quality and the pregnancy outcome of the patients with PCOS and asthenia of kidney undergoing in-vitro-fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET), and to explore the possible mechanism associated. Methods:66 patients undergoing in-vitro-fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) with PCOS and asthenia of kidney were divided into two groups randomly,34 patients as observed group and 32 patients as control group. Two groups were given Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets and long program ovarian hyperstimulation with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist, the observed group were given electro-acupuncture treatment. Electro-acupuncture(EA) treatment was applied in patients in points of GuanYuan (CV4.),ZhongJi (CV3.), SanYinjiao (SP6), ZiGong(EX-CAl),TaiXi(KI3),with the frequency of 16-18 Hz,30min every time, once daily.To observe the symptoms and signs of asthenia of kidney, the doses and days of gonadotrophin (Gn),the level of serum hormone, Stem cell factor (SCF) level of human serum and follicular fluid on getting eggs day, to compare the number of matured oocytes outcome, the rate of fertilization,egg splitting rate, high grade oocyte and embryo rate, clinical pregnancy rate, OHSS occurred rate,cycle cancelling rate and and early spontaneous abortion rates between the two groups. Results:1. The symptoms and signs of the observed group had been significantly improved after treatment; the rate of fertilization, egg spliting rate,high grade oocyte rate were increased significantly (P<0.05).2.clinical pregnancy rate was increased of 8.74%,and abortion rate was decreased of20.13%, but without statistical difference(P>0.05).3.Stem cell factor (SCF) level of human serum and follicular fluid on getting eggs day were higher obviously after EA treatment (P<0.05).The level of SCF on pregnancy group were higher than the un-pregnancy group obviously (P<0.05).4.The days and dose of Gn on observed group and early spontaneous abortion rates were lower than the control group.There were no significant difference on the thickness of endometrium on the hCG injecting day,the level of serum LH,E2,P,the number of acquired oocytes,the OHSS occurred rate between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusions:Electro-acupuncture can modulate the function of integer and ovarian local circumstance of the patients who with PCOS undergoing IVF-ET, so as to improve the symtom of deficiency of kidney, heighten the quality of oocyte and the outcome of pregnancy.
