A Comparison Of Open Mesh Repair With Laparoscopic Repair For Incisional Hernia

ObjectiveTo summarize the clinical experiences and efficacy of Laparoscopic incisioal hernia repairMethodsFrom October 2006 to November 2008,12 consecutive patients underwent 10 totally Laparoscopic incisioal hernia repair. We discuss the operating method, Complication according to our operating experiences.ResultsThe 10 cases had been performed Laparoscopic incisioal hernia repair. The operation was completed without converting to open surgery in all the cases. The operating time was mean 110 minutes. The patients stay in hospital mean 21 days. The patients do not need analgesics. Most complications are hematomas or seromas that account for 2 case,1 cases scrotum aerocele and 1 cases inguinal malaise, All the patients were followed up for 4-24 months. There was no recurrence.ConclusionsThe procedure of Laparoscopic incisioal hernia repair is safe, faster postoperative recover, and lower complications and recurrence rate.
