[Objective] To investigate the occupational stress and its influencing factor in army hospital medical personnel. Put forward reasonable proposal to improve army hospital medical personnel's life quality. Ensure the medical support for the Army and non-army.[Method] A total of 605 Army hospital medical personnel were sampled from five north and south army hospital which were randomly selected using the method of simple sampling. Measuring instruments (OSI-R,EPQ-RSC and SF-36) were adopted to investigate the status of army medical workers occupational roles, psychological strain, coping resources, personality characteristics and quality of working life.[Result] The scores of role overload, role ambiguity, role boundary and responsibility in male army medical workers were significantly higher than female'(P<0.05),30~40 years old were significantly higher than other years. The level of occupational roles stress in army medical personnel with high educational degree was higher than that of lower. Role overload, responsibility and working environment were the main stressor to surgery.The physical strain in surgery was significantly higher than other department (P<0.05). Except for role insufficiency and role ambiguity, occupational roles in doctor was significantly higher than nurse and medical technician(P<0.05).The results of correlation analysis showed that occupational roles and psychological strain were negatively correlative to mental health, physical health and quality of life(p<0.01),and coping resources was positively correlative to mental health, physical health and quality of life(p<0.01).Results from multiple linear regression analysis showed that role ambiguity,physical environment, vocational strain, psychological strain, physical strain,self-care, social support and rational coping were the main influencing factors of physical health and mental health.[Conclusion] occupational stress in army medical personnel is different in sex, age, education, department and vocation. The army medical personnel who have higher level of occupational stress would have lower quality of life. Coping resources could alleviate occupational stress and could improve quality of life. Different kinds of occupational stress and coping resources could have different impacts on physical and mental health. The influence of occupational stress and coping resources on mental health is larger than that on physical health.
