The therapeutic principle of anorectal abscess is: once the abscess exists, the patient should be operated as soon as possible. The incision and drainage and traditional cutting seton method are both modus operandi. However, these operations have several bugs such as too many reaction after surgery, high recrudescence rate. In addition, these operations may damnify the function of anal sphincter and anus more or less. Therefore, based on the theory which Parks used to cure anal fistula, we hope to seek an effective technique which can proctect the anal function better. Objective: Studied on the effect of the skin developing piece surgery on abscess of anus, we seek an effective technique, which can decrease injury of the anal sphincter, protect the anal function and improve the quality of life of patient. Methods: 20 anorectal abscess patients were randomly divided into 2 groups: therapeutic group and control group. In therapeutic group, the skin developing piece and seton surgery was used, and the control group with traditional cutting seton surgery. General curative effect, healing time, postoperative complications(pain, anal discomfort, emiction and so on)and postoperative anal function were observed and compared between the 2 groups. Results: Two groups have no statistic differences in general curative effect, healing time, postoperative anal discomfort, postoperative emiction and postoperative secretion (P>0.05). There is obvious statistic significance in the anal function and postoperative pain between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion: The flap over and seton technique not only has a good effect in alleviatingpostoperative pain, but also can proctect the anal function as much as possible.
