[Aim] To explore the curative rate of anorectal abscess and the anal function influenced bythe operation of top loose seton technique.[Method] 20 anorectal abscess patients were divided into two groups: therapeutic groupand control group. In therapeutic group, top loose seton technique was used; while incontrol group, traditional cutting seton method was used. General curative effect, analdeformation, anal resting pressure, anal maximal contractive pressure, postoperationcomplications (leakage of gas and liquid, key-hole deformation) and follow up wereobserved in the two groups after operation.[Result] The patient of two groups were all cured, the healing rate is 100%. The differencebetween the 2 groups is of no statistic significance(P>0.05).The average healing time oftherapeutic group is 26.10 days, while control group’s is 24.10 days, the difference of the isof no statistic significance (P>0.05). There is no recurrence or fistulization in these twogroups, the difference between the 2 groups is of no statistic significance (P>0.05). Besidesthe difference between the 2 groups in postoperative anal function is of statistic significance(P<0.05). There is statistic significance(P<0.05) between the two groups in postoperativecomplications(air leakage or weeping, key-hole deformation),and statistic significance(P<0.01) in pain score. There is no statistic significance (P>0.05)between the preoperativeand postoperative anus maximum contractive pressure, anus resting pressure in therapeuticgroup. While there is statistic significance (P<0.01)between the preoperative andpostoperative anus maximum contractive pressure, anus resting pressure in control group.[Conclusions] Top loose seton technique has a good curative effect in curing anorectalabscess. It can not only protect anal function, but also decrease postoperative complicationsand the influence to the pressure of anus.
