Objectives: To observe the expression of p63, Ki-67 and Laminin in normal, benign and malignant neoplasms of lacrimal gland, analyse relationship between above biological remarks and clinical or pathological of lacrimal tumors, to study their action in occurrence of lacrimal benign, malignant tumor and to provide evidence for differential diagnosis, therapy and prognosis estimation. Methods: The ozokerite type of 34 cases pleomorphic adenoma and 29 cases adenoid cystic carcinoma form institute of orbital diaeases of Armed police general hospital from Jan.2003 to Jan.2006 were involved. The expression of p63,Ki-67 and Laminin proteins in lacrimal benign, malignant tumor were analyzed by immunohistochemical staining (S-P).8 cases of normal larcimal gland tissues were used as control. Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS13.0.Results:(1)The expression of p63 proteinum in normal, benign and malignant neoplasms of lacrimal gland is 31.13±9.67,34.65±24.95 and 20.20±18.53,were analyzed by statistics. The expression of normal lacrimal gland and adenoid cystic carcinoma with pleomorphic adenoma was significant different(P<0.01) respectively. compare normal lacrimal gland with adenoid cystic carcinoma no significant different(P>0.05).(2)The average Ki-67 index in normal lacrimal gland, benign and malignant lacrimal gland tumors was 0,6.65±4.78 and 37.35±23.11, respectively. In these groups was significant different(P < 0.05) respectively. The expression shows an increasing tendency from normal lacrimal gland to benign and malignant.(3)The positive rate of laminin in normal lacrimal gland, benign and malignant lacrimal gland tumors is 25.00%(2/8),32.35%(11/34) and 51.72%(15/29), respectively. in these groups was significant different(P<0.05) respectively.(4)After operation,The expression of p63 in local recurrent and non recurrent groups is 14.11±6.31, 21.65±8.93, respectively.Ki-67 in local recurrent and non recurrent groups is 27.80±5.41,16.25±5.23, respectively. and the positive rate of laminin in local recurrent and non recurrent groups is 25.00%(3/12) and 85.71%(12/14), respectively. in these groups was significant different(P<0.05) respectively.(5) The expression of p63, Ki-67 or Laminin in Sex, age or size of lacrimal epithelial tumors, respectively. in these groups was no significant different(P>0.05).Conclusions: (1)As a marker of myoepithelial cells p63 proteinum could help to recogniz myoepithelial cells corre-ctly differentiate malignant from benign lacrimal gland tu-mor, In the case of p63 protein, the expression strength is h-igher in benign tumors and lowest in malignant tumos, and the results appear stable and reliable. Prognostication the expression of p63 was belated to differentiation of tumor, and over expression of p63 indicated depression recrudes of lacrimal gland tumors.(2) Ki-67 may participate occurring of lacrimal gland t-umors and be a tumor marker of auxiliary immunity whichidenify malignant from benign lacrimal gland. And judgeme-nt reproductive activity or reflection biological behaviour o-f lacrimal gland tumors. Ki-67 was related to the prognosis of adenoid cystic carcinoma, over expression of Ki-67 indicated poor prognosis of the discase.(3)Laminin seems to participate in occurring of lacrimalgland tumors and be a tumor marker of auxiliary immunitywhic-h identify malignant from benign lacrimal gland. The expre-ssion of laminin was an independent parameter in evaluati-ng the differentiation and prognosis of adenoid cysticcarci-noma.(4)Sex, age or size of lacrimal gland epithelial tumors has not influence to p63, Ki-67 or Laminin.
