Objective: To observer the effects of recuperating-heart granule which can tonify Qi, nourish blood, stabilize the heart and tranquilize the mind on rabbit model of similar unstable angina and the expression of serum CRP. To investigate its mechanism of action and to provide a objective theoretic basis for this therapy.Methods: Aortic wall injuries were introduced using an intravascular balloon in rabbits before the 28 rabbits were fed on a high fat diet for 8 weeks. To confirm forming atherosclerosis plaque by color ultrasonography, then they were randomly divided into model control group, recuperating-heart granule group, Cedocard group and atorvastation group. There were 7 rabbits in every group. Check another seven as a blank group. Given a two-week drug treatment. At the end of week 10, to copy the model of similar unstable angina pectoris by using the method of pharmacological triggering. To survey the content of serum CRP by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. To investigate the thickness and blood flow rate of arteria carotis communis by body surface chromatic color ultrasonography and to observe pathomorphism change of arteria carotis by HE dyeing.Results:1. According to the result of CRP, compared with blank group, CRP increase obviously in each group at the end of 8 weeks, it is considered statistically significant(P < 0.01). At the end of 10 weeks, in recuperating-heart granule and atorvastation group CRP decreased, and compared with model control group, they are considered statistically significant(P < 0.01), but the therapies of recuperating-heart granule group and atorvastation group are similar. In Cedocard group CRP descent obsoletly.2. According to the results of body surface ultrasonography, at the end of 8 weeks,compare with blank group, every group emerge that arteria carotis communis IMT obviously thicken, PI and RI obviously addition (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05), but Vs of every group accelerate nubilously. At the end of 10 weeks, every therapeutic group IMT PI RI decreased, compared with model control group, they are considered statistically significant(P < 0.01 or P < 0.05), but in Cedocard group IMT descent obsoletly, they are not considered statistically significant(P > 0.05); difference in recuperating-heart granule group and atorvastation group is nonsense(P > 0. 05).3. Pathology research indicated, besides black control group, every group emerge that vascular endothelial cell damaged, endangium thicken, fatty deposition obviously, fatty substance plaque formed. Compared with model control group, each treatment group's arteria carotis communis endothelial cell decrease lightly, endomembrane thicken lightly, fatty deposition decrease under endomembrane, arterial media vascular smooth muscle cells proliferation, adventitia fibrosis and chronic inflammation cell infiltrated lessen.Conclusion: Recuperating-heart granule can be used to prevent and cure the model of similar unstable angina pectoris. The result of this study indicate that it can decrease the content of CRP, restrain endangium hyperplasia and improve pathomorphism of the blood vessel. To reduce aggregation of inflammatory cell interior the plaque, participate in the reaction of inflammation and stabilize the unstable atherosclerotic plaque. So it can prevent and cure unstable angina.
