Objective: To investigate the significance of determination of serum hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods: Serum hs-CRP contents were determined with immuno-turbidity in 65 patients with CHD and 40 controls. Among the CHD patients, there were 24 stable angina pectoris(SAP) patients, 21 unstable angina pectoris(UAP) patients and 20 acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients. Results: Serum levels of hs- CRP in CHD patients were significantly higher than those in controls(P<0.01). Among the CHD patients, the levels of hs-CRP in AMI and UAP groups were significantly higher thanthose in SAP group (P<0.01) and the levels of hs-CRP in AMI group were also significantly higher than those in UAP group(P<0.01). Conclusion: The serum levels of hs-CRP were significantly elevated in the CHD patients and were correlated with the severity of the CHD.
