| Objective: To confirm the value and the mechanism of nourishing yin and clearing fire through the clinical observation of Essential Hypertension of the elder. Methods: 60aged patients of Essential Hypertension of the elder were divided randomly into two groups.32 cases with Zi Shen Qing Xin Antihypertension Decoction and Losartan Potassium Tablets were taken as observation group, another 28 cases treated with Losartan Potassium Tablets were taken as control group. All patients were treated 4 weeks. Observe the changes of clinical symptoms and laboratory indexes in all the patients before and after treatment. Result: Compared with control group, the observation group has obvious effect on lowering the blood pressure,improving the clinical symptoms,promoting blood-fat,blood-sugar, blood-rheology and the bast function. Conclusion: Zi Shen Qing Xin Antihypertension Decoction has the effect of lowering the blood pressure. This study enriches the theory of TCM treating Essential Hypertension of the elder and affirms the clinical curative effect of Zi Shen Qing Xin Antihypertension Decoction.
