| Objective: To observe the clinical effect and mechanism of Bu Shen Antihypertension Decoction to treat essential hypertension of the elder on the base of traditional and modern theory. Methods:In 4 weeks ,30 cases as test group with Bu Shen Antihypertension Decoction and captopril tablet were observed vs 26 cases with captopril tablet as control group. Results: Compared with control group, Bu Shen Antihypertension Decoction has obvious effect on lowering the blood pressure(BP), restoring blood pressure circadian rhythm,decreasing ET-1 and TXB2 while increasing NO and 6-keto-PGF1αin serum,improving the general symptoms,regularing lipid and improving hemorheolgy with statistical significance(P﹤0.05). Conclusion:The Bu Shen Antihypertension Decoction is a group of effective drugs in treating Essential Hypertension of the elder.
