Objective:This research, based on the Chinese medicine theory, make use of the Acupuncture and Moxibostion to treat peripheral facial paralysis that belong to the type of wind-cold.Through the randomized controlled trial and randomized trial for clinical case, we go to observe curative effect.Research and discussing the curative effect of Acupuncture and Moxibustion to treat the Peripheral Facial Paralysis that belong to the type of wind-cold, is to offer the therapy methods and the judgment standard for the Peripheral Facial Paralysis. Methods:Study was performed on 60 patients, who was from in-patient departments of acupuncture and moxibustion of HuBei hospital of traditional Chinese medicine and was randomly divided into two groups:the treating group, which was composed of 30 patients who were treated by acupuncture such points as qianzheng, taiyang, yangbai, dicang, jiache, xiaguan, yifeng, hegu point,by moxibustion such points as xiaguan, yifeng point;the control group, which was composed of 30 patients who were treated only by acupunture. These two treatments results, according to easy grading method and H-B evaluate system grading comparison to observe and analysis.Observe the syndrome differentiation, curing days, and H-B facial nerve function grade.Through comparison of syndrome differentiation between before and after treatments as well as different groups, the results were analyzed by statistic methods.Results:(1) The symptom difference between before treatment and after treatment:there is no significant difference in the treating group compared with the control group before treatment(P>0.05), indicating that the groups are comparable. There is significant difference between before treatment and after treatment within both groups(P<0.05),indicating that these 2 treatments can improve facial paralysis effectively. The comparison for symptom after treatments between treating group and control group(P<0.05), demonstrated that these treatments had significant difference, which showed degree that the treating group have improved was higher than the control group.(2) Effective comparison:the major effective rate showed significant difference(P<0.05),and the effect for treating group was better than control group. The remarkably effective rate and the cure rate for the treating group were 86.67%and 53.33% respectively, while for the control group they are 56.67%and 33.33%respectively.There were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05),indicating that the combination of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy may obviously raise the remarkably effective rate and the cure rate.(3) H-B evaluate system grading comparison for each group of treatments:in between-group comparison, the treatment group and the control group are not significant different before treatment(P<0.05),showing two methods of treatment were comparable. The comparison between before treatment and after treatment within groups showed significant difference(P<0.05), indicating the treatment group enhanced the facial nerve function to a higher degree than control group obviously.(4)Patient curing days comparison:There was significant difference in the average curing days for groups(P<0.05).The average curing days for treating group is significantly fewer than the control group, indicating that acupuncture and moxibustion had better effect and less curing days. Conclusion:The acupuncture with the moxibustion to treat peripheral facial paralysis that belong to the type of wind-cold are superior to pure acupuncture, which can obviously improve patient's symptom, enhance the cure rate and the remarkably effective rate. They have the advantages, including better effectiveness, fewer curing time, and avoiding the poisonous side effect and the latent danger from western medicine. This method is economical, simple, and easy to accept for patients, which is worthy promoting in the clinical application.
