| Objective: This study aims to observe the clinical effect of shuganhuayu manipulation in treating tension headache . And reveals the mechanism of shuganhuayu manipulation of treating tension headache. Method: 60 patients, who suffered from tension headache ,were divided into two groups at random, 30 in the treatment group and 30 in the control group, The single blind method was applied. The treatment group were treated once a day, 30min once ,10days as a therapeutic cycle. And the control group by oral administration of Fufangyangjiao capsual, 5 pills each time, thrice daily ,10 days as a therapeutic cycle. Data involving the changes of the clinical effectiveness, syndrome improvement and changes of the TCD were analyzed and teeated statistically, and compared the clinical effects of between shuganhuayu manipulation and Fufangyangjiao capsual in treating tension headache. Result: shuganhuayu manipulation in treatment group had a significant variance compared with the control group (shuganhuayu manipulation) in the aspect of clinical effect. (P<0.05) Conclusion: the shuganhuayu manipulation can evidently reduce the headache by eliminating the tension of muscle and by improving the blood-supply of vertebral arteries and basilar arteries.
