| Objective: to study the effect of Tonifying kidney herb Erzhitiangui(EZHTG) decoction to the endometrial receptivity of luteal phase defect sterility women,and explore its acting mechanism. Methods: 60 patients of luteal phase defect sterility women were randomly divided into the tested group (treated with EZHTG decoction combined with western medicine) and the control group (treated with Liuweidihuang decoction combined with western medicine), and were observed on improvement of symptoms of TCM before and after treatment and detected serum estradiol and progestone level on the day of luteal metaphase before and after treatment. We also compared the expression of LIF in luteal metaphase's endometrium after treatment and the pregnancy rate between the two groups.Results: (1) the tested group was obviously better than the control group in improving the insufficiency of kidney ( P<0.05). (2) After the treatment the serum progestone level on the day of luteal metaphase in the tested group was obviously higher than that in the control group(P<0.05), and the serum estradiol level in the two groups were higher than that before treatment,but there is no significant difference( P>0.05). (3) After the treatment the expression of LIF in luteal metaphase's endometrium of the tested group is significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). (4) As to the pregnancy rate, there was statistically significant difference between the two groups ( P<0.05). Conclusions: EZHTG decoction treating luteal phase defect sterility may have relation to its improving the endometrial receptivity ,and its mechanism may be because it could improve the expression of LIF in metaphase's endometrium.
